Features

Strong Drive Capability

Skylord series ESCs have strong drive capability, provide the motor with rapid startup speed and large torque, and can operate smoothly with a heavy load. Compared with similar products from other manufacturers, the driving force is increased by about 10% or more.

By using high-quality power devices and adopting a derating design, the ESCs can withstand the shocks when the load current is far more than the rated current, caused by frequently starting and stopping the motor or changing the throttle rapidly.

A strict quality control system is implemented during the manufacturing process. The ESCs are fully functional and cost-effective products.

Excellent motor control algorithm and fast responding speed

The ESCs can be used to drive various aircraft motors with good adaptability and high efficiency, applied in airplanes, helicopters, multi-rotors, and others.

High Compatibility

Skylord series ESCs have three start modes (normal, soft, and super-soft), are suitable for airplanes and helicopters, can support different timing, and are compatible with aircraft and disc-type motors. You can set the throttle range, making the ESCs fully compatible with various transmitters.

Multiple Safety Protections

It has multiple safety protection functions, such as low voltage protection, overheating protection, over-load protection, throttle signal loss protection, Etc., which can effectively extend the ESC's service life. Independent DC regulator powers the microprocessor in the ESC, has better anti-interference performance, and greatly reduces the possibility of being out of control.

Convenient Programming

You can use a 3-in-1 LCD programming card with a very small size to program the Skylord series ESCs. The LCD programming card is easier to use than programming the ESC with a transmitter. In addition, the LCD programming card can also be used for programming the stabilizer and measuring the voltage for the Li-Po battery.

Notes for TomCat Skylord ESCs:

ESCs from Skylord-6A to Skylord-30A use a linear battery elimination circuit (BEC) to output a 5V voltage for powering other devices, such as the receiver. The linear BEC has the advantage of small size and low interference. However, the efficiency is low, only 65% to 70%, and more power will be wasted and converted into heat. This type of voltage regulator is unsuitable for high input/output voltage difference or high current applications. It's generally only used on 3S or below.

ESCs from Skylord-40A to Skylord-100A use the ultra BEC (UBEC). Compared with the linear BEC, the UBEC has higher efficiency, lower loss, and higher output drive capability. Then the UBEC is more stable and reliable in heavy load conditions.

Continuous Current: It is the maximum Constant Current that the ESC can work on. A larger constant current will cause the ESC will overheat and burn out. For example, for a TC-P-3510-KV1080 TomCat motor, the maximum current of which is 30A, you should choose an ESC with a continuous current greater than 30A. It is better to choose the Skylord-40A-UBEC. In addition, there will be no power gain to your motor when using ESC with too many amps. Using 40A ESC doesn't mean your airplane is flying faster than 20A ESC; instead, your airplane will be heavier.

Burst Current: this might allow a higher current to pass through for a short time, such as 10 seconds. Over this time, the ESC will burn out.
