Description

Dynam PBY Catalina V2 Blue 1500mm 59" Wingspan Twin Engine Radio Controlled Float Plane - PNP/BNF/RTF-6C - DY8943BL

The Dynam PBY Catalina V2 twin-engine seaplane is well-designed, and the three-piece detachable wing is easy to carry and assemble. 1500mm (59") wingspan and dual Detrum BM2815A-1100KV (CW & CCW) brushless outrunner motors provide plenty of power, great lift force, short takeoff distance, and strong wind resistance capacity. The commonly used 3S 11.1V 2200mAh 25C Li-Po batteries can support a flight of 8-10 minutes. It is perfect for flying on the lake in summer.

This PBY Catalina Blue remote-controlled float plane includes dual TomCat Skylord-30A ESC 2A-BEC, LED lights with pre-soldered connector ends, and a LED light controller for static and flashing operations.

The Consolidated PBY Catalina was an American flying boat and later an amphibious aircraft produced by Consolidated Aircraft in the 1930s and 1940s. It was one of the most widely used seaplanes of World War II. Catalinas served with every branch of the United States Armed Forces and in many other nations' air forces and navies.

During World War II, PBYs were used in anti-submarine warfare, patrol bombing, convoy escorts, search and rescue missions (especially air-sea rescue), and cargo transport. The PBY was the most numerous aircraft, and the last active military PBYs were not retired from service until the 1980s. Even today, nearly 80 years after its first flight, the aircraft continues to fly as a waterbomber (or air tanker) in aerial firefighting operations worldwide.

Months of flight testing and design from Dynam yield an aircraft that is very stable and capable of maintaining flight at slow speeds that allow novices to master flight mechanics with ease. High-quality scale detail and a large 1.4m wingspan make this an attention-grabbing model. Made from a high-strength EPO foam for added durability. Powered by twin 1100KV electric brushless motors, all you need is a GAVIN 6-channel 2.4Ghz radio, 6-channel receiver, and 3S 11.1V 2200mAh Li-Po battery, and you're ready for water-based sorties and patrols!

What's the difference between RTF, BNF, and PNP?

PNP (Plug-N-Play) RC airplanes have everything you need EXCEPT a transmitter, receiver, and battery pack (battery & charger). It contains model kits, Detrum motors, TomCat Skylord ESCs, and servos.

BNF (Bind-N-Fly) RC airplanes come with everything you need to get in the air EXCEPT the Transmitter and battery pack (battery & charger). It contains model kits, Detrum motors, TomCat Skylord ESCs, servos, and an iStone gyro receiver. They are easy to use, versatile, and safe, making them the perfect choice for beginners and experienced pilots. The BNF (Bind and Fly) version, receivers such as the MSR66A work exclusively with Detrum transmitters.

Dynam SRTF version is based on the standard RTF (Ready to Fly), which integrates the iStone 6-Axis Gyro Stabilizer w/ ABS System: RC airplanes get everything in a box to fly. The radio system (Transmitter and receiver), battery pack (battery and charger), and all other required electric parts are included and pre-installed. It contains model kits, Detrum motors, TomCat Skylord ESCs, servos, Detrum transmitters, iStone gyro receivers, battery, charger, and adapter. RTF planes are a great way to enjoy the thrill of flying without too much hassle.

iStone Gyro Receiver (The receiver integrated with iStone stabilizer):

Six-axis gyro high-precision stabilization function, auto-recovery, one-click rescue. Incredibly accurate and greatly improves the flying experience.

Regarding different aircraft, the parameter and sensitivity of the gyro receiver can be programmed with a Detrum transmitter (Gavin6C/Gavin8C/Blitz DT9) directly.

Quick and easy setup process. If you don't want Gyro to join the flight, just choose Gyro off mode on Transmitter.

Partial review

I have not had an opportunity to fly the PBY yet. First impressions: fit and finish could be improved and the instructions leave a lot to be desired. The stand would not go together as the rods O.D. was larger the I.D. of the bases. The decal sheets were damaged and were incomplete. Reading about this aircraft on line, I modified it as recommended by previous owners. I am still looking forward to the first flight
